Our news MEC Germany launches Arthur Schlovsky

Thursday 15 January 2009

Ralf Zilligen joins Mediaedge:cia  Germany

MEC continues to develop its offer by moving into content

Mediaedge;cia Germany (MEC Germany), a leading media agency, today announced that Ralf Zilligen, and long time Executive Creative Director of  BBDO Düsseldorf, will join the company effective 1st January 2009.  Zilligen will take the role of Managing Director, thereby strengthening Birgit Konrad’s management team of MEC Germany with offices in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich.

Together Zilligen and Konrad will spearhead the launch of a new Mediaedge:cia business named “Arthur Schlovsky”, which will focus on content creation and activation for clients.

Arthur Schlovsky will be a business dedicated to creating content on behalf of clients and will be media neutral in its approach.  Arthur Schlovsky will work with a network of specialists both from within the agency group and also externally, functioning within various different constellations depending on the requirements of the client.

With the launching of this new service, MEC is evolving its overall business in order to offer clients true integrated communications solutions that actively engage consumers with brands.

With this new model MEC now offers – under one roof - a full spectrum of communications channels and implementation professionals:  media planning and placement, strategy, campaign architecture and communication implementation, driven totally by their clients’ interests and objectives.

Birgit Konrad, CEO of MEC Germany and Arthur Schlovsky said,  “With this new service, MEC will be able to provide answers to the fundamental questions, such as, how can clients’ communication strategies be developed independently of the respective channels and at the same time enjoy optimal implementation?  How can media platforms such as social networks be fully integrated into communication strategies?   We are in a great position now to continue to adapt quickly to the changing needs of our clients: strengthening our strategic consultancy and innovative implemention offer, all underpinned by consumer insight and measurable results.”

Ralf Zilligen, Managing Director MEC Germany and Chairman of Arthur Schlovsky said, “With this new agency model we will be able to give our teams a new way of working and bring our Active Enagement culture to life. This new agency offering will empower and give them the freedom to look beyond the horizons of their own specialist service, allowing our people to develop both professionally and personally.  Fixed structures,  traditional job-titles and process belong to a divisionist mentality and those days are now numbered in the media agency world.

Change will come from our people, and it is this opportunity for change that we aim to offer with Arthur Schlovsky, with the ultimate aim to be of benefit to our clients’ businesses.”
